You can check out as a guest. The receipt email is the one you type at checkout. If you later create an account with that same email, those orders show on the account page. A shopper account is not the store admin.
Card and PayPal payments are recorded when the payment provider notifies this shop. The confirmation page stays pending until that notice arrives. Refresh it after you pay.
